I've been around since 2002, and my addiction really started in February 2006. Currently, I spend idle time doing miscellaneous cleanup... deadends, vandal patrol, infoboxes. Also, every time I encounter a raster image, I feel compelled to convert it to SVG format using Inkscape.
My area of interest for article improvements is computer science, because that's what I know and love. A lot of the CS articles need improved consistency and illustrations.
Among the social aspects of Wikipedia, I most enjoy promoting civility and encouraging the newcomers. A recurring problem I've noticed is people who join, post something, have it deleted, leave in a huff, and tell their friends how terrible Wikipedia is. I believe that friendly reasoning is capable of curtailing this to some degree.
